Luminis, an established innovator and manufacturer of specification-grade, interior and exterior lighting solutions, today announced its Bellevue, Scena, and Hollowcore luminaire families have each received a 2022 Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural SSL magazine.
The PIA recognizes innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market, while also spotlighting the players behind the components that make up these light sources. Judging and evaluation of products and systems was completed by a distinguished panel of 16 designers and lighting specialists skilled in product evaluation. Manufacturers are awarded for products with attributes, qualities, functionality, and/or performance beyond industry standards.
The Bellevue family includes bollards, wall-mount, and columns. Bellevue columns are available in three unique optic types to address targeted lighting needs. Directional illumination is offered with the BVS series. The BVG series is ideal for pedestrian illumination where visual comfort is required. And powerful street illumination is provided by the BVA series. An advanced optical system in the bollards and wall-mount fixtures creates a uniformly illuminated surface for powerful area lighting. With a modern rectilinear design, this selection allows the Bellevue aesthetic to be carried throughout multiple spaces in exterior projects.
Scena is a family of elegant surface mount fixtures and bollards designed to withstand the rigors of urban exteriors and public spaces. The luminaires are ideally suited for commercial applications, schools, office buildings, or outdoor public spaces. Round or square, designers can select a bollard best suited to its surroundings, then carry the aesthetic with complementary surface mount fixtures to nearby buildings.
Hollowcore was introduced in early 2020 as a re-think of the traditional high bay pendant. It was designed to optimize and deliver light evenly and where needed with a unique circular LED light engine and an open center concept. That year it received its first PIA from Architectural SSL magazine. This year, a family enhancement featuring a larger 30” diameter has also been recognized with a PIA. The lens version of the new luminaire delivers up to 22,500 delivered lumens of uniform downlight. And an optional independently controlled uplight component is available, delivering up to 7,800 additional lumens for upward illumination or highlighting ceilings.
All three luminaires are showcased in the November issue of Architectural SSL magazine.
