Luminis®, an established innovator and manufacturer of specification-grade, interior and exterior lighting solutions, today announced that its Bellevue and Scena luminaire families have each received a 2021 Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural Products magazine.
The PIA recognizes innovative products and applications from across the design and construction spectrum. A distinguished panel of 19 designers and lighting specialists, skilled in product evaluation, judge and evaluate the entries. Manufacturers of products and systems are awarded based on attributes, qualities, functionality, and/or performance beyond industry standards.
While all Bellevue luminaires offer high optical performance, specifiers can choose between three unique optic types to address targeted lighting needs. Directional illumination is available with the BVS series, which features a unique integral tilting mechanism and adjustable rotation for maximum flexibility. The BVG series uses a precise cut-off angle and recessed cell-lens technology, making it ideal for pedestrian illumination where visual comfort is required. And powerful street illumination is offered by the BVA series. Its advanced optical system features high performance micro-prisms that create a uniformly illuminated surface.
Comments from one PIA judge included: “Totally deserving of innovation. Very creative area lighting by offering a family of products with multiple functions with the same footprint and clean contemporary style.”
Scena is a family of elegant surface mount fixtures and bollards designed to withstand the rigors of urban exteriors and public spaces. Specifiers can mix and match a variety of models to satisfy their requirements. Round or square, designers can select a bollard best suited to its surroundings, then carry the aesthetic with complementary surface mount fixtures to nearby buildings. The luminaires are ideally suited for commercial applications, schools, office buildings, or outdoor public spaces.
PIA judges’ comments included, “I give high marks for a well-blended family of luminaires that work together to meet the specifier’s lighting needs.”
As winners, Bellevue and Scena are showcased in the November/December issue of Architectural Products magazine.
